Maintaining Food Security More Difficult Than To Build

In Life - Self-reliance and food security is one of the serious problems faced by each nation. Indeed, it is also undeniable that the any government has been done in an attempt to resolve the food security and self-reliance, although its development is still not optimal. So indeed there are various factors that hinder the program from the Government.

Like the proverbial, maintaining it is more difficult than to build. That's what seems to be happening with the achievement of the development of the agricultural sector. Right now, the challenges of agriculture are increasingly complex. Because of the challenge that must be answered not only how we are able to increase production in order to maintain food safety and durability, but more than that, which is also concerning how to improve the welfare of the perpetrators in the sector agricultural foodstuff, such as opening up employment and increase the income of farmers.

It must be admitted that the policy of the agricultural sector more prioritized on aspects of production to meet the needs of consumers, while the welfare and needs of farmers thus still marginalized. It can be seen from how the Government prefer to import food needs rather than buying property of farmers of the land itself, which in a clear cost is indeed more expensive than the price of imported goods. Food politics in favour of the consumer, then the orientation of the fulfillment of the needs of the consumer are also impartial. For example, to cover a shortage of domestic needs, thus fulfilling the needs of consumption with easy we do with imports, such as rice, meat, milk, soybeans, sugar, corn, and fruits etc.

Agriculture in a bid to resurrect the embodiment of a sustainable food sovereignty, the Government must have programs that can benefit farmers, among others, namely preventing over the function of land and encourage the acceleration of the expansion of land agricultural food crops. So that farmers are not crying because of hunger in our own country.

If these efforts are successful at the top then at least our agricultural production will stay awake or in other words remains stable. To achieve these goals must occur in common vision and perception between farmers and the Government.
